This Research Jargon Buster provides understandable, non-technical descriptions of frequently used research terms. It aims to help non-researchers and those starting to learn about research understand key research concepts and terms. It is not intended to be an exhaustive list, and we welcome suggestions for additions.

The descriptions have been developed by the Centre team, drawing on their expertise, and some of the resources provided in the further reading section at the end of this resource.
