Abstract: Women veterans are the fastest-growing population in the veteran community, yet there is limited research focusing specifically on their military and veteran experiences. Existing literature highlights the unique experiences and challenges women veterans encounter, both during military service and when transitioning to civilian life. The 2025 Women Warriors Report provides the opportunity to highlight emerging trends among post-9/11 U.S. women veterans and understand the impact of different factors on their quality of life. The findings will help identify gender-based research gaps and provide evidence-based policy and research recommendations to advocate for and support women veterans’ needs. The mixed-methods design provides extensive quantitative data on the current well-being of a large sample of wounded, ill, or injured post-9/11 women veterans, while the qualitative focus group discussions provide in-depth insights into their experiences.
